Well, what can I say. This is how she arrived straight from Mattel. The time where quality control was very particular is long gone, perhaps it wasn't even around when these Fashionistas were produced. But if you are a Barbie collector and you went for the Fashionistas, having dolls come like these happened more then once. It shouldn't be a problem if you're a deboxer and the doll is otherwise fine, but it's annoying if you like to see the facepaint before buying or deboxing.
But when you sell these dolls NRFB the comments are very derogatory. People are not even willing to pay the amount they were when bought as it was certainly the sellers fault they come like this. The dolls have been removed from their box and the seller is just lying they came this way. It seems in no way or form people can be curtious and the dolls should be resold for $2.
Recently I even met someone who was sure 80s and early 90s dolls have been perfectly reboxed because they aren't attached to their boxes as they have been from the late 90s on. There certainly are people who rebox and I have experienced it a few times. It happens far more with Tonner dolls compared to Barbie.
